Kristin and Bryan came from Burnsville to spend the weekend with us and we had a great time! Kristin and I worked together last year at PIE and we used to walk almost every night after work when I was pregnant, so we always wondered if Maida would remember hearing Kristin's voice when she was in my tummy because she heard it so often! Well, it wasn't too long after Kristin got here on Friday night that Maida really warmed up to her, smiling and giggling. We had a great time just hanging out on Friday night. On Saturday we put Maida in the stroller and went walking on the Lakewalk along Lake Superior. We walked down to Canal Park, had lunch, and drove to the end of Park Pointe. Kristin and Bryan enjoyed a nice walk on the beach while Maida napped, then we went out to dinner! We ate dinner at Black Woods, a very fancy restaurant here in Duluth. Maida cracked us all up when she talked VERY loud and SCREAMED with excitement at the top of her lungs all during dinner. It was so embarrassing! I felt like all the other tables were looking at us! Erik even had to take her out in the parking lot for a few minutes to see if that would calm her down. She was just a monster, grabbing everything, constantly moving, and just going crazy! It was very apparent to us that Maida loves to hear herself talk and that we probably won't be able to take her out to that fancy of a restaurant until she's a little older! After dinner we ended the day with a campfire in our backyard and s'mores. It was so fun to explore Duluth with them and it was sad for me to see them go. Kristin was my bestest friend from PIE and she is one of the nicest people I know. I hope that someday we can live close to each other again (and have babies together... right Bryan?!!).
