Well, we just got home from the St. Luke's Emergency Room. It's not as bad as it sounds. Here's the story...
Maida has been having diarrhea for a week now. She's been going about every hour and it's bright green. She also has been crying a lot, especially right before she poops or while she's pooping. After talking with Erik's mom about all of his ear infections and my mom about how it doesn't just hurt to call the doctor and ask about it, I decided to call our new primary care physician. Well, she was booked solid until next week and so they told us to go downtown to Urgent Care. Well, we got down there and while in the triage area, they told us that they really don't do babies this small when it's digestive issues so that she would be seen in the emergency room. So we went back into the emergency room and Maida was really great during her exam, the rectal temp and everything! After sitting there for two hours, we finally got out of there with a piece of paper that pretty much says, "Your baby is healthy, go home." What they think is that it's just viral and it just has to run its course. Erik was fairly upset that we went in there for no reason, but I, on the other hand, am just thankful that she's a healthy baby! And that ends our story of our trip to the Emergency Room.
