All the New Things

We've had a great week with Ashley! I can tell that Maida loves having her around. Every morning we wake up and walk out to our "guest bedroom" and Maida loves to look for Ashley in her bed, then when she finds her, she giggles! Tomorrow Ashley leaves and then we'll be sad. Grandma Kinkel is coming into town, though, and will stay with us until Tuesday, so we won't be too lonely for a while longer!

Since I haven't been updating too regularly, I thought that I'd better write down some new things that Maida is doing.
Here's the list:
1. She can roll over like crazy and refuses to sleep on her back anymore. Even if she's in a dead sleep when you lay her in her crib, she will roll right over onto her tummy!
2. She says "dada" and "mama" both, but doesn't really know what she is saying, I don't think.
3. She waves hi and bye-bye to everyone she sees, including Barkley! and has a princess wave where she rotates her wrist as she's waving...very cute!
4. Now that we're in hat season, we've started putting a hat on Maida and she has learned to take it off! (Good thing we got smart and purchased one that ties on!)
5. She pulls herself up from sitting to standing when sitting next to something that she can grab onto, but doesn't exactly know what to do when she's tired of standing!
6. She hates her car seat and anytime we go anywhere, she screams the whole way.
7. Her favorite song is "He Leadeth Me" and we sing it to her whenever she gets upset and it calms her right down. It is a song that we've been singing to her to put her to sleep since she was born and so I think that she just really likes it. She will even start humming to it and it's so cute, just melts my heart!
8. She has learned to throw BIG temper tantrums and will arch her back, growl and scream if she doesn't get her way or if she's mad about something, like dropping a toy or mommy leaving the room. She's a big brat and we're going to have to do something about that! She'll actually fight over toys that she wants too. Yesterday we were at a play group and Maida got in a fight with a one-year-old!!! (She should really pick on someone her own size!). Maida and him both wanted the same toy and they grabbed it at the same time and both started tugging back and forth and screaming. It was funny to see Maida act so old, yet disappointing at the same time to see that my little precious innocent little girl is turning into such a MONSTER! (Haha, I've got my work cut out for me!)
9. She can flip pages in a book when you read to her.
